Thanks for the forum. This label got off to a fantastic start. Awesome job done not only with the Man re-issues but also with most of the other stuff. Quality liner notes and (re-)mastering on all releases so far. And finally the club. Can't get much better than that.

Hi Greasy Trucker-great name by the way!
Glad you enjoyed the Man stuff--we enjoyed doing it as its been in need of a revamp for years. Which one has been your favourite so far?
Looking forward to bringing you loads more quality reissues and some new frontline releases too in the new year.

I second to that!
I am especially glad that the Man catalogue has finally been properly attended to. Thanks to Esoteric, I was finally able to get a quality re-issue of my favourite Man album Do You Like It Here Now.... I just received the second batch of Man CDs, with another huge favourite, Be Good to Yourself..., which sounds and looks awesome. I can hardly wait for the rest of the Man titles - especially Back Into the Future, which is probably the third on my list of the best Man albums. _________________ I know the meaning of life and it doesn't help me a bit.

I'm with you on 'Back Into The Future'. Actually, that live version of C'mon is probably the best piece Man ever did (along with Spunk Rock on the Greasy Truckers album). Hopefully we will see the Bananas 7" as one piece and perhaps even more from that show as bonus...
I also really like the Padget Rooms double. Great stuff.

| Oh what a pleasant surprise... !!! Though I received Man's 'Be good...' and 'Rhinos...' a couple days ago, I only today found the time to listen to the Rhinos bonus CD. Well, I was expecting some 35 minutes or so for the 5 tracks listed. When putting the CD into my stereo, I couldn't believe when it showed 69+ minutes. And what awesome 69 minutes they are. 20 mins of Romain with a great 10 minute intro jam, 20 mins of Bananas, and great 10+ minute versions of American Mother and 7171 551. Excellent guitar playing throughout complemented with great sax and flute by Jim Horn. I must say that this is the best of the Man re-issues so far. Thank you, Esoteric!

You have a point there! A great album, mouth-wateringly great bonus material (judging by the ever-amusing liner notes and a quick listen through American mother). My Rhinos... is still waiting for a closer listen, though, as I am still quite taken by the sheer brilliancy of Be Good to Yourself... _________________ I know the meaning of life and it doesn't help me a bit.

Yes, bought most of the CDs Esoteric have put out and have loved them all; exemplary in every single respect, IMHO, as were Eclectic before them.
Particular favourites? Well, I was delighted to get the Rare Bird albums in top notch sound at last as they are two of my favourite prog albums. Great to get 'Man' and 'Do You Like It Here Now...' on CD at last in good quality; the previous releases on earlier labels were poor, IMHO. New Space Ritual album is terrific (better than anything I've heard Hawkwind put out for years and years!), the Jonesy anthology is first class too. Have to agree that Man's epic live version of 'C'Mon' on 'Back Into The Future' is their finest work too; it's simply staggering.
Keep up the good work.

Yes I very much enjoy the personal service provided by the club. Vicky has been kind enough to send on release info when I've asked for it. The quality of the Man discs is indeed astounding. They were SO grotty before, it's really nice to hear these classic albums in all their glory.
Can't wait for details of Back Into The Future and Maximum Darkness. My favourite so far might just be the eponymous album, for the great sound. It's like hearing it for the first time.

I love the title track - saw them play the Sheffield Boardwalk recently and other than some dodgy clothes, it was brilliant - I saw Hawkwind in 72,3, 4 and finally 5 (at the Reading festival) but nothing since - it's great to see Nik has still got it _________________ Cheers,
